Gamers Race To Save Lives

26 November 2009, Singapore – IAHGames is rallying the online gaming community to do its bit for charity in the blood donation drive “The Red Affair 2: Blood Race”. A total of 300 gamers are expected to turn up at the event, each representing one of three online games operated by IAHGames, in a bid to see which online game can donate the most blood. The donation drive-competition will be held on Saturday, 12th December between 11am to 5pm at the Red Dot Traffic Museum.

Organised by IAHGames, in association with the Singapore Red Cross Society, Red Dot Traffic Museum and Once Upon A Milkshake ice cream & milkshake parlour, “The Red Affair 2: Blood Race” will feature a race between gamers of the three IAHGames titles – Granado Espada, Dragonica and EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 2. Each gamer-donor will select an online game to represent and will donate blood under its banner.

The online game with the highest total blood units donated will be crowned the winner. At the end of the competition, the winning online game will earn a prize, ranging from unreleased in-game items to special in-game events.

“We have added a competitive element to the blood donation drive to make charity fun and meaningful. At IAHGames, contributing back to the community is something that we as a company are passionate about,” said Roland Ong, CEO of IAHGames.

This is the second time that IAHGames will be holding a blood donation drive with the first drive held in January this year. Called “The Red Affair”, it drew in 107 blood donors over a two-day period. As “The Red Affair” was only open to Granado Espada gamers, organisers are expecting a higher turnout of 300 donors this time.

Besides door gifts such as game DVDs, all participants will receive two 10% discount vouchers from local ice cream & milkshake parlour Once Upon A Milkshake in each goodie bag. In the true spirit of Christmas, no effort will go unrewarded: participants who registered but were deemed ineligible to donate will still receive exclusive in-game premiums, making it a happy occasion for all involved.
