05 DECEMBER 2008, SINGAPORE - EA SPORTS™ FIFA ONLINE 2 ENGLISH SERVICE OPEN BETA STARTS IN SOUTHEAST ASIA
Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world’s leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment, and IAHGames, a major provider of online entertainment software and services in Southeast Asia based in Singapore, announced today the start of the English-service Open Beta Test for EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 2 in Southeast Asia (SEA).
A series of closed beta tests were successfully conducted across SEA, ending on 17 November 2008. 656,000 gamers from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and other SEA countries, participated in the closed beta tests, surpassing the original target of 320,000 gamers. A Free-to-Play, PC online game, EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 2 has many unique features to engage and excite gamers when they participate in the Open Beta Test. One of the most interesting features would be the Item Shop. Gamers can earn in-game items such as a Medical Kit, which helps injured players recover and an Energy Drink that will boost player energy. The game also features more than 500 teams and 10,000 players from the best professional football leagues from around the world. More features and items will be available when the game enters its commercial phase.
