Our Board of Directors
1. Roland ONG, BSc, MSc
Mr Ong has been in the IT, Internet and Education industry for almost 20 years, and has been in the PC games distribution business since 1995. He played a key role in bringing World of Warcraft to China, Taiwan, Hongkong and Macau. Mr Ong also spearheaded a joint venture between the ST Group and C9i Ltd, and served as its co-CEO. He was a pioneer in Game and Education content distribution, representing more than 20 software publishers such as Vivendi Universal, Encyclopedia Britannica and Disney Interactive, in Southeast Asia.
2. ZHU Jun
Mr ZHU is the co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The9 Ltd, a NASDAQ-listed company.
Under his leadership, The9 has grown to become one of the top three online game operators in China. It is the exclusive licensee and operator of World of Warcraft in China, the largest installation of the game in the world with more than 5 million activated subscription accounts and over 600,000 concurrent users.
The9 has obtained exclusive licenses to operate many other top-rated MMORPGs in China, including Granado Espada, Soul of The Ultimate Nation, Guild Wars, and Hellgate: London.
The9 has developed a proprietary MMORPG titled Joyful Journey West, which entered all-access public open beta testing in August 2005. It is also working on the development of a casual game Super Girl Online and a fantasy MMORPG game Fantasy Melody Online.
3. Arthur Wang
Mr Arthur M Wang is the Chief Executive Officer and a Director of GigaMedia Ltd, a NASDAQ-listed (GIGM) online entertainment and software firm.
During his three-year tenure, Mr Wang transformed GigaMedia from a loss-making Internet service provider into a leading online entertainment and software firm, driving its market capitalization from US$70 million to US$600 million.
Mr Wang was previously a Director of SoftBank Investment International (Strategic) Ltd, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE) listed branch of SoftBank Corporation, and was Chairman of the Boardˇ¦s Audit Committee. He was also Investment Advisor and Board Member of the UFJ (formerly Sanwa Bank) Groupˇ¦s Asia Finance Technology Fund.
Mr Wang has also served as Director and held senior management positions in both private and publicly listed companies in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia and Thailand.
4. Kabir MISRA
Mr. Kabir Misra helped found Softbank China & India Holdings in April 2006. He is responsible for leading the Fundˇ¦s investment initiatives in China, India and South East Asia. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of IAH. Previously Kabir was a Director in Deutsche Bank Hong Kong responsible for the firmˇ¦s software and Internet investment banking businesses across Asia. He also served as a Global Strategist in the Samsung Group and Vice President in The Technology Investment Banking group at Goldman Sachs. In addition to acting as a strategic advisor on the acquisition and sale of technology firms, he has also completed a number of private placements, IPOs, and common stock and convertible debt financings.
